Ashley
Elie is from the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago
and is returning to his roots with "Caribbean
Spectacular." In 1994 he produced "Calypso
Bacchanal" at "The Ivar " theater in
Hollywood. Quoted by Mr. Frank McCoy of the Los Angeles
Sentinel "Calypso Musical Proves Overwhelming"
and by Mr. Lewis Segal of the Los Angeles Times "Hedonism
seasoned with native folklore."
In the 1970s Ashley performed in London at the Royal
Festival Hall and in Paris and the French Rivera under
the management of the Lido of Paris with the world famous
show "AMBAKALIA" direct from Trinidad and
Tobago, he also performed in Japan and did various shows
in L. A. For example The Share show at C. B. S. Studios,
Dance Kaleidoscope and even did a commercial for Fox
Sports with native Caribbean dance. He wishes to share
his Caribbean's Carnival Culture through the dance.
